MR. CECIL FAULKNER
July 31, 1922 - May 30, 2013
CECIL FAULKNER was born July 31, 1922 in Hollysprings, Mississippi to Roosevelt “Kingfish” Faulkner and Elizabeth Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents and three of his children, Ronald and Melvin Faulkner and Margaret Grimes.

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received an Honorable Discharge in October 1945.

After the completion of his military career, he moved to Chicago, Illinois where he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. He later moved to East St. Louis, Illinois where he continued his service with the post office until his retirement in 1977 with 34 years of dedicated service.

He was a faithful member of Unity Lutheran Church for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of the East St. Louis Ahmes Temple #132.

Mr. Faulkner departed this life Thursday, May 30, 2013. Mr. Faulkner was blessed with five children whom he loved dearly. He leaves two of his children to carry on his legacy: Cheryl (Sylvester) Donaldson of Chicago, IL and Ricardo (Katrice) Faulkner of O’Fallon, IL; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; members of Unity Lutheran Church; and a host of other relatives and friends.
